About forest, traps and sorrow. Main

The idea was inspired by Ernst Jünger’s book “Walking into the Forest.” The author views the departure gesture as a particular kind of political conflict. Can the forest be secure today, though? Is there safety in the world, and if so, why has it grown so much more dangerous recently?

My father was a former hermit as well. His 1994 retreat to the taiga was attributed to exhaustion from the commotion and issues in the area. He recounted the traps he and the forester constructed to catch game and defend themselves from animals when discussing his life in the forest. In his article “The Lion’s Trap, ” Mikhail Yampolsky discusses the idea of fatal absence, discussing both the person who created it and its future.
